How much do we lose in or life as a result of disharmony in our minds caused by irritation, depression, or extreme unease?

I call this “Life Loss.” Life Loss emerges when our body is sick. Everyone knows this. For example, if we are unable to work like we used to because of our illness, we are deprived economically during this time. This economic loss is an easy loss to calculate.

But loss is not limited to what results when we are physically disabled. There are also disorders of the mind that can cause great loss to our lives, that can be a minus factor in our lives.

We all have weaknesses of the mind. For example, a person confronted by a difficulty may immediately become depressed and unable to do anything. What happens to a person like that who lives 10 years, 20 years, always bearing that weakness within themselves, never able to deal with trials or tribulation? How much of a Life Loss is this kind of person likely to suffer?

There are as well, people who cannot contain their anger. Surely you know someone near you who too easily erupts in anger over the smallest thing, or someone who is too quick to fight with others. How much more life potential that person would have if they were able to control their anger and cooperate with others.

Instead the person erupts in anger and directs that anger to others, eventually destroying all relationships.

When we are working, there are many things we cannot do alone. Often several people, even many people, have to work together to achieve an objective. A person full of anger will disrupt that teamwork and bring everything to a standstill. The Life Loss this causes is immeasurable.

So, you see, disorders of the mind, weaknesses of the mind, can cause great loss in our lives.
